November 2007

Summer's over and what a good one its been with some superb fish gracing the banks. Paul Mansie starts us off with a lovely brace of 30's Cartoon at 30lb 12oz and Casper at 32lb 10oz, both were caught in a 48hr session. Howard Carter landed a cat weighing in at 34lb 10oz together with a 20lb 8oz Mirror. Cobbleacre  regular Marty Howe had a cracking common at 26lb 9oz along with Chris Hubbard who landed a leather at 24lb 4oz. Mark Batson was bowled over after landing 3 up to 23lb 4oz. We have had many reports of high teens and low 20's and a 34lb cat falling to one of our holiday makers. Most swims have produced some good catches this year but the Beach, Snags, Lawn, Dugout and Channel being very productive. Many types of bait produced fish but fruity baits along with maize, source and garlic flavored baits being among the best.

The what's Happening Page has been updated Click Here to have a look at what we are planning to do in 2008

It only remains for us to thank everyone that came along to Cobbleacre this year and hopefully you had an enjoyable time.

THANK YOU ALL

February 2007

Mario's has had a lake record grace the bank for local angler Leo Self. A common at 35/8, the fish was caught on 31/01/07 from the beach on a homemade squid and octopus pop-pop fishing close to the island. Since then Leo has had another visit to us and banked a 19lb and a 22/8.Other anglers, Rob Anderson (not the bailiff) had 5 fish out up to 27/8 and in the same week Dave Hall from Leeds had 4 out up to 25/4.Geoff Hall had the one at 23/9. Fish also came out to Marty Howe a brace for him 2 fish up to 25/8.The following week Aaron Nolan had a brace up to 26/4. So all in all a few nice  fish have graced the bank the last few weeks. With the weather now hopefully settling down to some comfortable temperatures we hopefully should see some more fish on the bank.

1st November 2006

The biggest fish fell to Scott “Cowboy” Townsend fishing from the snags, Scott landed the fish named pistol at 29/10, we saw the same fish earlier in the year at a lower weight, it was nice to see the old warrior come out at a good weight again and to show that these fish are on their winter munch. photos of the fish in our gallery. Also on Mario's local carper Steve Banham had a brace earlier in the month a mirror of 28/10 and a common of 22/4 both fish coming off the lawn. Some of the 24hr ticket boys also had one or two fish between them with photos to follow soon. With the weather now turning colder this is the time to get your lines in the water as the carp will soon be getting there heads down before the winter sets in. one or two of the harden anglers are on the lake this week so hopefully fish will grace the bank.

1st September 2006

With another week of fishing finished by our anglers on Mario's only a hand full of fish graced the bank. Geoff Hall came out on top with a 31/3 common and another one at 20/4.While Steve Banham had three fish up to 23/4. Dave Hall also had a ghostie at 20/2. all fish came from the snags and peg one area. Meanwhile at the other end of the lake on middle top, Alan Page had three fish out over night the biggest being 22/5 so it just shows that fish will grace the bank at the top end of the Lake. So hopefully with the weather on the change again the lake will produce this weekend.
